A SUMMER DANCE CAMP IMMERSION + FESTIVAL
Spend an intimate five days, creating new works, training with master teachers from around the world, and breaking bread while igniting deep restoration and creative activation--removing all sense of competition and exploring the power of collaboration among an intergenerational group of dance and expressive artists of all levels, styles, backgrounds, and cultures from nearby and across the globe.
Words from our Founder and Leader, April (Axé) Charmaine:
"There is nothing like getting to dance with others--for healing and to be able to say something. Working toward a common goal bonds people like no other.
This is what I want in my world, for the world. To continue to provide opportunities for movement exploration-- to be in any body, at any stage of life, any gender, anywhere in the world and for you to know that there is a place that exists in the world that accepts you and loves you 100% for everything that you are.
To know that you can come to a place for five days of your life and know that you are going to be surrounded by healing light, to know that you are going to get to use your body to say something that means something, that can change and shift something--even if it's just for you.
I want my legacy to continue-- the one that reminds you that you are so incredible, valid and necessary. The one that allows you to be openly expressed in your totality.
The one that allows you to authentically express yourself with bold audacity. The one that reminds you to breathe, take care, connect--you are not alone. The legacy that says, “I am a dancer / I am strong / I am powerful / I am capable of anything / I live my dreams / I love myself / I am powerful / I am a dancer.”
My heart trembles when I think about what One Sol is really for. I want you to remember who you are, discover that you’re more than you know, and that your expression at whatever level is totally essential." -- Axé
